Chest of drawers
Chest of drawers in blue with whimsical decoupage

wood).
I started by lifting if of the ground by adding the legs. Just to get couple centimetres. I selected solid square legs to match the chunkiness of this piece.
Since it was made of pine wood, I primed the entire piece except the top which I wanted to keep bare. I was keen to use a bold colour and therefore selected one of Annie Sloan’s blues: Greek Blue. It is such a lively colour. The fronts of the drawers with the natural “framing” were a perfect place for adding the decoupage to make this piece even more joyful. Whimsical Mediterranean decoupage from Belles & Whistles was a perfect match for Greek Blue paint.
After painting and applying the decoupage, I decided the sides of the drawers looked a bit empty – so I stencilled some patterns using the name Greek Blue paint.
Once done, I waxed all the surfaces.
Final step: a replacement of the hardware. I wanted to use a hardware which would not “disturb” the decoupage. I selected basic wooden “buttons” which I painted in Greek Blue and finished in pearl for extra bling.
